Sunday service 7th December 2025
There is Something about the Wembury Pentecostal Church
In Wembury Devon,That our Lord loves, and because the congregation is small sometimes just 6 adults yet Jesus always is there.
Last night was no exception;
Just before the service started, Pastor Maldwyn Jones came in, just back from his trip to Ghana. The Service began with Psalm no 4 read by Kieron followed by worship led by John Wannell and Dylan Smith with hymns of praise ascending to our Saviour, leading to a time of waiting on the Lord. The gift of tongues and interpretation was used speaking peace and comfort to Dylan who testified to it being exactly what he needed to hear, during testimony time. Afterwards I related an incident earlier that day when I took my wife and daughter-in-law to Liddles for an unplanned shop. Whilst queuing a young lady arrived with a handful of items and we allowed her to go before us, she didn’t show any gratitude whatsoever. After she left the checkout the man on the till of middle eastern appearence called to one of his colleagues bring the woman back, her gift card hasn’t gone through. By this time I could see the lady stepping from the zebra crossing onto the pavement on the other side of the road, then the till attendant jumped up and ran after the lady. Well, the fleshy part of me started to get a bit angry so I decided to put anger in the bin and praise the Lord instead, this I did with a loud Praise the Lord oh my soul.
My wife looked at me with a shush look!
But I couldn’t stop so I began to sing bless the Lord oh my soul, I heard a voice behind me join quietly and beautifully in and I turned to see a smiling beautiful young African sister, a carer singing along with joy in her face. Looking around it was clear that it had given a little respite to the mundane task of queing at the tills in this packed out store. And an example how to praise in every circumstance. Purely by God"s grace and mercy. The inner door of the church opened and our beloved sister and brother from Bournemouth, Angela with Bobby her son walked into our service.. Pastor Maldwyn took the service using the scripture John :1-14. Everyone was blessed by our amazing Lord and Saviour to whom all praise and honour is due
